The origin
Mantrac Information Systems was founded in Oakville, Ontario. We started as an IT consulting practice, working with real estate developers, property managers, and financial services firms on technology strategy and system design.
Through that work, we saw the same problem everywhere: firms managing sensitive client and investor relationships were doing it with email, shared drives, and tools not designed for governed communication. There was a gap between what these firms needed and what existed.
Building Cadenora
So we built what was missing. Working directly with a founding client in real estate development, we designed and built Cadenora: a secure platform for stakeholder communication and document management, purpose-built for regulated industries.
The product was shaped by real domain expertise from practitioners who live these workflows every day. We funded the entire design, development, and infrastructure ourselves, and we own and operate every piece of it.
Where we are now
Today, Mantrac operates as both a product company and a consulting firm. We continue to do deep technology consulting for clients in real estate, property management, and financial services, while building and operating Cadenora as a commercial SaaS platform serving those same industries.
We're a small, focused company that does both things well. We don't outsource development, we don't resell other vendors' products, and we don't take on work we can't do properly.

We design, build, host, and support everything ourselves. No outsourced development, no white-labeled third-party software. If it has our name on it, we built it.
Deep not wide
We work with a small number of clients and know their businesses well. We'd rather do exceptional work for five clients than mediocre work for fifty.
